*Black Flag and Sabbath are so good, never forget.
*That earlier Animal Collective album is better than "Here Comes the Indian."
*Maybe it's against the rules to play those T-rex and Big Star songs back to back because they're too perfect.
*Everyone called up asking about Gentle Giant. It's some crazy prog rock shit.
*The new Bride of No No is a disappointment.

*This was the week for filling out the BMI logs for official copywrite stuff. However I feel like nothing official will come of the Teengenerate song I played, which features writing credits to band member FINK. Fancy.
*Rorschach sparked some metal madness in the studio.
*Eventually I will rescue all the Robert Wyatt and Kevin Ayers LP's from the obscurity of WPRB's dusty "aux" shelves.
*I saw Neil Young in Camden NJ last week with my uncle and my old man. In the main set he played through his new album. The new album is sort of a rock opera and he had dancers and actors in the background acting out the story. I tried to ignore this. The encore was great though.

-I saw Kurt Heasley of Lilys play a solo show in Philly last weekend with Greg Weeks, Adrian Crowley, Mazarin, and some crazy man who stalled for a late Heasly with songs about digging ditches. And it was really great, amazing even. The new CD has him playing with a whole backing band and string arrangements and I don't like it nearly as much but the songs are still very good.
-L'infonie + Gentle Giant = prog rock dork city
-That Exploding Hearts song is really good. Reminds me of Cheap Trick and Big Star.
-I've been meaning to play that Sonic Youth record for a while and was just waiting to get a SY request. It's a New York Dolls cover with Kim on vocals. Sonic Youth covering the New York Dolls ends up sounding a lot like Royal Trux!
-The Glass Candy CD is so good. Also, I voted for Ida No in that Playboy internet thing, you know what I'm talking about.
-Add Moving Targets to my list of bands that sound like Hüsker Dü that I think are great.
-Dig how I figured out how to make ümlauts on my computer.

Les Savy Fav, White Stripes, Bright Eyes, Policy of 3 were requests. I was psyched for the Policy of 3 request. Along with Policy of 3, I played a couple other Philly punk rock acts from the 90's with Plow United and Kill the Man.

I saw Michael Hurley play in Philly with Espers and Pg. 6 a couple weeks ago and it was incredible. Mr. Hurley seemed surprised and glad that so many people showed up and he appreciated all the requests. He played for forever but every song was memorable.

I like all the stuff coming out on Ersatz Audio records. The Human Hands LP was a good find.

Wow sorry it's taken so long to get this up. Some notes -

I saw one of the Kid Dynamite reunion shows, waiving my official no-reunion show policy. But all the money went to a charity for cancer research, and Kid Dynamite broke up only a couple of years ago so I made a special exception and was happy with my decision. Other recent shows of note. - Converge!, AZITA/Daniel Johnston.

The Georges Montalba brings up good memories of the Castlevania series of Nintendo Games.

The Pitchfork reissue has some of the coolest guitar riffs ever. So far this year, I'm really rocking the Deerhoof, Aislers Set, and AZITA records. More recently though, the El Guapo is sounding really good. Oranges Band - big disappointment.

The Robert Fripp post-punk/new wave track is way cooler than you would expect.

Blondie and Bill and Will were requests. Lots of compilation tracks this show! I was pretty happy with the Dream Syndicate, Robyn Hitchcock, and Clever songs. Although I like them pretty good, playing the Flipper CD reissue does not sound good over the airwaves to me. This band's music was destined for a twice-dubbed cassette tape and cheap Sony Walkman.
